Amaya

Amaya Indian Restaurant, Knightsbridge

Tucked away in the polished streets of Knightsbridge, Amaya takes Indian dining in a rather different direction. Forget the traditional curry-house formula — this Michelin-starred restaurant is all about bold flavours, open-fire cooking and dishes designed to arrive at the table as they're ready.

The kitchen puts its grills and tandoors centre stage, turning out beautifully spiced meats, seafood and vegetables with plenty of smoke, char and theatre along the way. The idea is to order several dishes for the table, making Amaya particularly good for anyone who likes trying a little bit of everything rather than committing to one enormous curry.

Inside, it's sophisticated without feeling stuffy, with an open kitchen adding energy to the room. Its Knightsbridge location also makes it an excellent choice for lunch after shopping around Harrods and Sloane Street, or for a smarter evening meal in one of London's most exclusive neighbourhoods.

City Lynx verdict: Amaya is Indian food dressed for Knightsbridge — refined, inventive and just smoky enough to remind you that the grill is the real star of the show.

Luxury Indian Food

There’s an unmistakable Knightsbridge polish to the place, but it still feels lively and relaxed enough for a date night, special occasion or smart dinner with friends.

Our experience at Amaya

We stayed in the Capital Hotel in Knightsbridge and while we were there we thought about exploring the night life. Although actually quite difficult to find we stumbled across Amaya.

We walked over, the gentleman at the door opened it and welcomed us in. We were seated straight away and the table we were given wasn't the best so we asked to move and they happily obliged.

Our  waiter was super attentive. HE knew what we wanted to before WE knew what we wanted! The staff were overall amazing and ever so friendly. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming and we relaxed straight away.

The Food was absolutely sensational and there is reason they have Michelin stars! We could see certain parts of he kitchen which was quite  nice and all the chefs were  working in unison. It operated like clock  work.

We would absolutely recommend Amaya as one of London Best Indian Restaurants and we look forward to our return visit.
